ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES – May 16th, 2026
The 52nd annual meeting of the WI State 600 Bowling Club was called to order by President Polly Burright at 8:05 am Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center, Rothschild WI.

Pledge of Allegiance led by Sergeant-at-Arms, Virginia Luchterhand
Roll Call of Board - 3 officers and 5 directors present.
OFFICERS – Polly Burright, President; Jennie Volkman, Secretary-Treasurer; and Virginia Luchterhand, Sgt at Arms.
DIRECTORS – #1 Tonja Zenk, #2 Nancy Kessinger, #3 Shannah Ellenbecker, #4 Tami Westphal, #5 Mason Heldt.
LIFE MEMBERS: Virginia Stewart
EXCUSED – Vice President; Melissa Lang.
Correspondence – none received.
Minutes of the 51st annual meeting were not read. They were approved by the Board at their August meeting and placed on file. They were also included in the annual meeting booklet and available on club website www.wisconsin600club.org .
Club Treasury Report: printed in annual meeting program, was reviewed. Club financial report accepted as presented. Audit Committee report presented by Virginia Luchterhand; Sgt at Arms was approved on motion, second and voice vote.
Tournament Financial Report from 2025 in Shawano did generate a net income as printed in the meeting program booklet. Audit Committee report presented by Virginia Luchterhand; Sgt at Arms was approved on motion, second and voice vote.
A Memorial Service honoring deceased State 600 members with a moment of silence and a reading from Tami Westphal/Mason Heldt.
OLD BUSINESS – none
NEW BUSINESS –Polly Burright presented her President’s Message, We thank you all for coming and a special welcome to all of our guests this morning. Again, thank you to the WI State USBC for making all of the meeting arrangements, as well as to the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center for fulfilling all requests and making things run smoothly. Polly forgot her paper, so she was going to play it by memory.
We are always looking for ways to inform bowlers about our club. We are also looking for interest in serving on our board of directors and in hosting our tournament. There are so many places we haven’t been to in our beautiful state. Why not talk to your proprietor to see if he or she might consider hosting our tournament? You can make some good money for your organization too!
In November we will be traveling to Waterford to bowl in our 53rd tournament. Some squads are already full, so you may want to contact Jennie and get your entry in soon. We hope to see you all there!
Secretary’s Message: Jennie Volkman welcomed everyone who was in attendance and Thanked Shawano for their wonderful hospitality, great service and a great overall experience. The rest of the message was printed in the convention booklet as well.
Secretary Volkman presented Acts of the Board. These were also printed in the annual meeting booklet.

The Nominating Committee report with proposed slate of candidates was presented by Chair, Tami Westphal-Shawano. The positions up for election:
3 year term - President; Virginia Luchterhand (Sgt at Arms)
3 year term - Director #2; Nancy Kessinger (incumbent)
3 year term - Sgt at Arms; Virginia Luchterhand (incumbent)
Election of Officers and Directors
President Polly Burright asked for nominations for President, none from the floor. Virginia Luchterhand was voted in by acclamation. (3 year term ending 5/2029)
Nominations for Sgt at Arms were requested. None from the floor. Nancy Kessinger was voted in by acclamation.
(3 year term ending 5/2029).
Nominations for Director #2 were requested. Motion from the floor by Michelle Bartoletti and 2nd by Joan Rennert to elect Florence Schipp, Kenosha and a motion on the floor by LaVern Lewis and 2nd by Annette Zelinski to elect Denise Knueppel, Southern Lakes. Majority ballot vote went to Denise. (3 year term ending 5/2029)
2027 Tournament Site – There were 5 bids received. Watertown Bowl 18 submitted, then unsubmitted at this time.
Also received are the following: Cambridge, Madison Association – Lake Ripley Lanes.
Medford , Medford Association – Sports Page Bowl & Grill.
EauClaire, Eau Claire Association – Bowl Winkles.
Janesville, South Central Association – Rivers Edge Bowl.
The annual booklet highlighted pertinent information including number of lanes, approach from settee, lineage expense, etc. Sgt at Arms Virginia Luchterhand collected ballets and Life member Virginia Steward along with appointed tellers.
1st ballot vote: Cambridge 25; Janesville 20; Medford 7; Eau Claire 2. Eau Claire will be dropped
2nd ballot vote to be: Cambridge 30; Janesville 19; Medford 4.
Majority vote shows Cambridge will be hosting our 54th Wisconsin State 600 Bowling Club annual tournament in 2027.
Sponsor prizes from bid city were drawn and presented to members in attendance.
2025 Tournament Report and distribution of First Place Awards– Tami Westphal gave a recap of the Shawano tournament. She thanked everyone for their participation. Secretary Jennie Volkman proceeded to announce the winners. Names are listed on website and were posted on Facebook after the tournament. Thank You Shannah for taking photos!
